If You’re Supporting Someone Else
If someone you care about may be struggling:
• Take their feelings seriously.
• Listen without trying to immediately fix.
• Avoid minimizing (“It could be worse.”)
• Ask directly if they are thinking about harming themselves.
• Stay present.
You do not have to have perfect words.
You just have to care.
Signs Someone May Be Struggling
Sometimes the signs are subtle:
• Withdrawing from friends or activities
• Sudden mood changes
• Talking about feeling hopeless or like a burden
• Giving away belongings
• Changes in sleep or appetite
• Increased substance use
If you notice these signs, check in.
A simple:
“I’ve noticed you seem overwhelmed lately. I’m here if you want to talk.”
can open a door.
Our Commitment
Mentally Me is committed to spreading awareness and supporting suicide prevention efforts.
We are not a crisis service.
But we are a voice encouraging you to reach one.
If you are struggling, please reach out to a trusted person or one of the resources above.
You deserve support.
You deserve care.
You deserve to stay.
A Gentle Reminder
You do not have to face everything at once.
Breathe.
Take one step.
Send one text.
Make one call.
That is enough for today.
Be aware.
Be present.
